Karin Kokubu is a slightly klutzy yet average junior high school student. One day on the way to school, she finds an injured pig. Karin wants to help the pig, but she is already late for school. The pig eats Karin's lunch and recovers. As she runs to school, the pig follows after Karin. Later on, the pig reveals that it can talk and is actually an alien from the planet Porco. He gives Karin a compact that will turn her into a flying pig super hero called Buurin. Karin doesn't like the "shape" of Buurin, but she can't transform into any other shape until she gets 108 "pearls". Every time Buurin saves somebody, she will get one pearl that she puts into a "bank." Also, if anyone discovers Buurin's identity, Karin will be stuck in Buurin's form forever.
