"It's Punky Brewster!" was an animated spin-off from the live action TV series. It featured the original cast and appeared on Saturday mornings. The cartoon was produced by Ruby-Spears Productions. It ran from September 14, 1985 to September 5, 1987 with a total of 26 episodes. The word "It's" never formally appears in the on-screen title and is only used to differentiate the cartoon from the live-action production.
This series included the addition of one new animal character known as Glomer; a creature that came from a world at the end of the rainbow. Glomer had various magical powers, one of which was the ability to transport Punky, Margaux Kramer, Cherie Johnson, and Allen Anderson to any part of the Earth instantly.
