D is a Dunpeal (Dhampir), a creature with a human mother and vampire father. He is blessed with the strength, grace and longevity of a vampire. While D is immune to direct sunlight, he can succumb to heat stroke if he's not careful. He is infected with a talking parasite on his left hand and cursed to never be accepted by neither humans nor vampires.
